Q. Why are trans fats not eliminated immediately from our food?
A. Eliminating trans fatty acids is a significant challenge for the manufacturer. The challenges include finding the right blend of non-hydrogenated oils which do not contain trans fatty acids, does not increase saturated fats, provides the same or better taste and texture and still allows for reasonable shelf life without the product going bad.
